BioHacking appears to have been officially kicked off on January 17th, 2013 when Dave Asprey put on the “First Ever Bulletproof Biohacking Conference” in San Francisco.
Mark Moschel was the emcee at the second conference in 2014 and says this in his post on Medium – “Biohackers believe in experience-based learning. Or in plainer terms… we like to touch stuff. If you don’t try it, how do you know it works?”
Mark goes on to say – “Biohacking is ….. the desire to be the absolute best version of ourselves. The main thing that separates a biohacker from the rest of the self-improvement world is a systems-thinking approach to our own biology.”
Mark wrote “The Beginner’s Guide” , as reprinted on Dave’s site- https://blog.bulletproof.com –
On September 23, 2014 Spencer Michels wrote this article about what was just emerging as a new movement – https://www.pbs.org/newshour/science/biohacking-care
In 2018 this article appeared on Medium – Biohacking Is Bullshit . It is by an epidemiologist who calls himself GID M+K and is studying to get a PHD. This writer is using foul language in other blogs as well for reasons we cannot know – it appears he has decided to be as noisy and blatant as possible to get as much attention as possible. Why Medium printed his work also a mystery.
On April Fool’s Day 2019 I searched the Bulletproof.com web site for all the biohack articles posted there. Here they are – https://blog.bulletproof.com/?s=biohack
